Belgrade, July 1, 2022 - With the support of the European Union, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) invites young people to apply for training programs and engagement in United Nations volunteer contracts (UNV) in local institutions in Serbia.
This Public Call is issued within the project "Regional Programme on Local Democracy in the Western Balkans 2 (ReLOaD2)” and is intended for young people aged 18 to 30, who have a registered residence in Babušnica, Vladičin Han, Vrnjačka Banja, Kruševac, Novi Sad, Subotica and Topola.
The goal of the training and volunteer engagement program in local governments is to enable young people to develop knowledge and skills in order to:
1. influence the social and political processes in the cities/municipalities where they live;
2. cooperate with local authorities for greater inclusion of young people in the design and adoption of policies and practices, through volunteering within local institutions;
3. advocate more effectively for the interests of young people at the local level in cooperation with various interested parties.
Training programs, in the field of sustainable development, human rights and "soft" skills needed for employment, for twenty-five (25) selected candidates will be held in the period from August 20 to September 30, 2022. The trainings will last two days, and the participants will be provided with accommodation and reimbursed transportation costs in the amount of a return bus ticket. Also, all candidates who participate will receive a certificate of successful completion of the training.
This will enable them to be engaged in local institutions through United Nations volunteer contracts (UNV) on the basis of a six-month work practice, with an appropriate amount of compensation for living expenses. Engaged young volunteers will have the task and opportunity to transfer the knowledge and skills acquired during the training to the institutions where they volunteer, and to the users of the services of those institutions, as well as to improve their knowledge and skills during work practice. All volunteers will receive a certificate of completed volunteering upon completion of the internship, in order to have better chances for employment.
The deadline for submitting applications is August 1, 2022, 5 p.m.
