UN Women Civil Society Engagement Group Serbia

Civil society is one of UN Women’s most important partners in achieving its strategic goals. Feminist victories of the 20th century have contributed to tremendous progress for women and girls. The establishment of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, Security Council resolutions on the protection of women and girls, and most lately Generation Equality Forum were largely the result of civil society activism, predominantly women’s organizations and the feminist movement.

In order to strengthen the partnerships, provide a platform for dialogue and influence the national, regional and global agenda of gender equality, UN Women Serbia is establishing a Civil Society Engagement Group.

We invite all interested representatives of civil society, media and academia on the territory of the Republic of Serbia to apply by June 30 to info.serbia@unwomen.org. Terms of Reference and application form can be downloaded below.
