Progress in Monitoring Environment-Related SDG Indicators in the Republic of Serbia
The second publication on environment-related Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) indicators in Serbia presents progress achieved between January 2022 and August 2025. It builds on the first edition, which introduced the baseline for 93 indicators identified by UNEP. This new edition shows that Serbia now monitors 56 of these indicators – a 64.7% increase compared to 2022 – thanks to improved data availability, stronger institutional cooperation, and international support.
Particular progress has been made in areas such as clean water and sanitation, biodiversity protection, and sustainable consumption and production. The publication was prepared by the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia with the support of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the UN Resident Coordinator’s Office in Serbia.
